Description

Responsibilities

• Help determine the best services/solutions to provide a x HPC cluster

• Demonstrated working knowledge of popular applications and ability to compile, package, install, and upgrade software as well as assist researchers

with configuring job submission scripts and troubleshooting application issues

• Develop testing tools and monitoring to ensure proper HPC grid operation

• Propose and evolve HPC architectural concepts and features and ensure consistency with strategic plans and roadmaps.

• Create HPC architecture specifications and establish architectural requirements and draft associated acquisition language for SOWs

• Help deploy new software on the HPC grid

• Create a roadmap to leverage compute capacity with cloud providers

• Improve system installation, configuration and disposal procedures

• Review interoperability to ensure integration with other key systems

Skills

• + years of experience with Linux/Unix variants, especially RedHat/RHEL and its derivatives with + years of experience in Managing HPC Cluster

• Demonstrated experience in an HPC environment

• Familiarity with large HPC cluster and grid designs

• Familiarity with emerging cluster and compute paradigms

• Scripting experience in Python and other languages (Bash, R, Perl, Ruby, etc.)

• Automation/configuration management experience (Puppet, Ansible, Chef, Salt, etc.)

• Strong understanding of networking concepts

• Familiarity with issues of Grid scaling for resources is a plus
