Job Title: Business/Data Analyst - Client
Location: % Remote
Job Type: Contract
Job Timings: Monday – Friday PM- AM PAK [ am EST- pm EST (New York Time)]
Reports To: Data Initiatives Product Owner
Job Summary:
• We are seeking a skilled Business/Data Analyst to join our Client team. The ideal candidate will have experience in producing data flow diagrams, ER diagrams, and knowledge graphs. This role will involve working closely with various departments to enhance our data architecture and provide actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain data flow diagrams to visualize the movement of data between upstream applications and the Client datalake.
• Create and update ER (Entity-Relationship) diagrams to represent the data model and relationships between data entities preferably using Erwin.
• Design and implement knowledge graphs to capture and represent complex relationships within the data preferably using Visio or Draw.io.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements for data architecture and visualization.
• Identify data integrity and consistency issues across various data sources and systems.
• Provide support for data-related projects and initiatives, including data mapping, data modeling, and data integration.
• Document data processes, methodologies, and findings for future reference and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Business/Data Analyst, preferably within a financial services or technology environment.
• Good understanding of data modeling techniques such as star schema
• Strong proficiency in creating data flow diagrams, ER diagrams, and knowledge graphs using Visio or Draw.io.
• Experience with data modeling tools and techniques using tools such as Erwin or similar data modeling tools.
• Proficiency in Excel and/or SQL and experience with database management systems.
• Proficiency in tools such as Visio or Draw.io.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools Power BI.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Client data or similar data initiatives.
• Knowledge of data governance and data quality best practices.
• Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms such as Databricks hosted on AWS.
Client Problem Statement / Hypothesis:
• Client is seeking to take a more strategic and streamlined approach for achieving a simplified view of the Customer journey and the corresponding business processes
• Currently, due to growth via acquisition, there are dozens of sources of proprietary customer data/disparate data sets representing customer attributes/processes
• These processes do not have a good visual representation to correspond/simplify this for both technical and non-technical audiences
• The first step would be to look at the variety of data sets that represent the customer—starting with this to define the client attributes and building out a spiderweb from there to represent the corresponding business processes for each data set/understanding how that maps back together
• Seeking a Data/Systems Analyst to accomplish this
Technology Stack:
• Visio, ER Diagrams, Data modeling tools (Preferably Erwin or similar tools)
• SQL, Python (nice to have)
