Key Responsibilities:
Comprehensive Monitoring: You will be the first responder for alerts from the Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) platform and various security tools. This includes monitoring endpoint health, patch status, and alerts from antivirus, EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response), or SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) systems. Network & Firewall Management: You will have hands-on access to network firewalls. Responsibilities include implementing, modifying, and troubleshooting firewall rules, configuring VPN tunnels, managing access control lists (ACLs), and ensuring the firewall policy aligns with security requirements.
Backup & Disaster Recovery (BDR) Management: You will manage the entire backup lifecycle using solutions like Veeam and dedicated BDR appliances. This includes configuring and monitoring both file-level and image-level backups, performing data restores, managing the health and capacity of BDR appliances and backup media, and testing to ensure business continuity.
Incident Management & Escalation: You will own the incident lifecycle: creating detailed tickets, documenting every troubleshooting and implementation step, and escalating complex issues to senior engineers with clear, concise notes.
Server Troubleshooting & Implementation: Your duties involve diagnosing and resolving issues on both Windows and Linux servers. This includes managing Active Directory, troubleshooting application errors, analyzing logs, and handling service failures. You will also be responsible for implementing new servers, such as deploying virtual machines from templates or applying standard configurations.
Platforms & Tools:
RMM Systems: Experience in at least one major RMM platform (e.g., ConnectWise Automate, Datto RMM, Kaseya).
Backup & Recovery Software: Proven experience with Backup & Replication and familiarity with managing BDR appliances.
Security Software: Experience with SIEM, EDR, vulnerability scanners, and centralized antivirus consoles.
Ticketing Systems: Experience with platforms like Autotask, ServiceNow or Jira etc. is a plus , Knowledge and experience of other Technical Skills:
Server Administration: Strong knowledge of Windows Server (Active Directory, GPO) and Linux (command line, basic shell scripting).
Networking & Firewall: Solid understanding of TCP/IP, routing, and direct experience configuring business-grade firewalls (e.g., Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, UDM, WatchGuard, SonicWall, etc.).
Data Protection: Deep understanding of backup methodologies (file-level vs. image-level), recovery scenarios, and concepts like RPO/RTO.
Certifications (Recommended): CompTIA Network+ & Security+
Cisco CCNA o Microsoft or Linux certifications (e.g., AZ- , RHCSA)
Excellent analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills.
Proficiency is required in modern IT infrastructure technologies for this position.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
