Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Officer to manage and process payroll operations for US-based employees. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of US payroll regulations, employee compensation, tax withholdings, benefits administration, and payroll compliance. The Payroll Officer will ensure accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with federal and state payroll laws.


Key Responsibilities
Process weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly payrolls for US employees.
Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, deductions, and reimbursements.
Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on schedule.
Maintain employee payroll records and update payroll information as required.
Verify employee timesheets, attendance records, and leave balances.
Calculate and process payroll taxes, deductions, garnishments, and benefits contributions.
Ensure compliance with US federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
Prepare payroll reports for management and accounting purposes.
Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve payroll discrepancies.
Coordinate with HR regarding employee onboarding, terminations, salary changes, and benefits updates.
Process year-end payroll activities, including W- preparation and distribution.
Maintain confidentiality of employee compensation and personal information.
Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
Assist during payroll audits and compliance reviews.
Stay updated on changes in payroll laws, tax regulations, and labor requirements.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably with US payroll.
Strong understanding of US payroll practices, tax regulations, and labor laws.
Experience with payroll software and HRIS systems.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with US-based companies or clients.
Knowledge of multi-state payroll processing.
Familiarity with payroll platforms such as ADP, Paychex, Gusto, QuickBooks Payroll, or similar systems.
Payroll certification is a plus.
