Description
Background:
In Pakistan, Human Appeal has been working since on different humanitarian response(s) and development projects in various parts of the country. Since its inception it has spent more than million rupees and benefited more than million deserving beneficiaries under different projects including Livelihoods, Water and Sanitation (WASH), Education, Healthcare, Social protection and Emergency response. Currently, it has its projects in Tharparkar & Thatta (Sindh), Rahimyar Khan, Rawalpindi & Faisalabad (Punjab), Mansehra & Swat (KPK) and Bagh & Bhimber (AJ&K).
Objective:
The Consultant will work directly with the Head of Programs/Country Director to ensure Human Appeal’s networking with key institutional donors, relevant ministries & INGOs establishing formal partnerships. Further the consultant(s) shall be required to thematically facilitate the proposal development team through innovations, expert opinions & technical reviews prior to the submissions. The consultant shall also be required to support thematic capacity building of the HA’s programme unit.
Key Thematic Areas: WASH & Climate Change, Food Security, Nutrition & Livelihoods, Formal & Non-Formal Education, Health
Reporting:
The consultant(s) will report to Head of Programs.
Coordination:
The consultant will coordinate funding unit and relevant program teams to work on the proposals/opportunities.
Scope of Services and Tasks:
The scope of the service entails the following and with details described after:
. Introduce Research based innovations in Programmes
. Expert/technical reviews of the proposals based on thematic guidelines
. Linkage with key institutional donors/relevant ministries/other INGOs/corporate firms & establish formal/Public Private Partnerships.
. Consortium Partnerships/Joint Ventures on Bid Development
. Thematic team capacity building through on-job trainings
. Provide adequate support to local team in donors mapping
. Support project implementation as thematic advisor (if required)
Requirements and Skills:
• Ideally, the consultant will have at least - years of project development experience, specifically with institutional donors in humanitarian and development sectors in any of the specified thematic fields. Having experience of working as thematic advisor/consultant with a reputed INGO, donor organizations or UN will be an added advantage.
• Experience in developing public private partnership will be a plus.
• Must have proven research skills with experience of developing or piloting innovations
• Sound track record of leading on successful bids/consortium/partnerships development & winning proposals from institutional donors.
• Exceptional communication skills.
• A very high standard placed on English language writing
Key Deliverable:
Consultancy report mentioning efforts, progress, outcomes and recommendations etc.
Duration:
working days limited to a period of months maximum.
Payment Schedule:
Payment will be based on submission of timesheets approved by Consultant’s Supervisor and shall not exceed the LOE in total.
