Description

Job Description:

Responsible for maintaining the operations, ongoing and new IT Initiatives and upgrades, evaluation of new software, and engineering support for all production, development, and disaster recovery environments.

Resolves and appropriately completes assigned cases and change requests and acts as an escalation for support issues.

Applies new solutions through research and collaboration with the team and determines a course of action for new application initiatives.

Implements new software solutions as required by the business. Experience in administering, supporting, and monitoring medium to large server environments which includes Windows Server, VMware, Active Directory and Citrix.

Experience building, architecting, designing, and implementing highly distributed global cloud-based systems, and experience in network infrastructure, security, data, or application development.

+ years of VMware vCenter/vSphere experience with architect level knowledge

Performs all non-emergency disruptive maintenance, repairs, and upgrades (i.e., operating system upgrades, server refresh, enhancements, installs etc.) during non-business hours or as coordinated.

Knowledge of the Microsoft Data Platform technologies, especially experience with SQL Server.

Experience with managing long-term implementation projects. Working with multiple business owners and Change Management processes.

Experience in configuring & troubleshooting migration and sync tools.

Experience with backup technologies & backup/restore best practices.

Successful track record in working on cross-functional, cross-team projects.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Management Information Systems or equivalent work experience.

Work as a member of the team as well as the ability to work independently, identify opportunities, and manage implementation activities in a multi-disciplinary environment.

Experience with IT infrastructures including servers, some networking, and storage.

Strong scripting skills, especially PowerShell.

Highly motivated self-starter interested in constant improvement.

Highly organized individual.

Strong communication skills and a team player comfortable interacting with various internal and external groups.

Preferred candidates will possess an understanding of project management, processes, tasks, & deliverables within a given timeframe.

Participate in a weekly / on call rotation.

Nice to haves:

Linux experience.

Networking experience: sub netting, layer , & layer .

MCSE or Citrix certifications are a plus.
