Job Summary:

The IT Officer is responsible for managing and maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure, ensuring the smooth operation of hardware, software, and network systems, and providing technical support to staff. The role includes monitoring IT systems, troubleshooting issues, and implementing new technologies to improve efficiency and security.

Key Responsibilities

. IT Infrastructure Management

Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and networks.

Ensure systems are updated with the latest patches and upgrades.

Monitor and optimize network performance and server uptime.

. Technical Support

Provide first-line support to resolve technical issues for employees.

Respond to helpdesk queries in a timely manner.

Train staff on new systems and technologies.

. Security and Compliance

Implement cybersecurity measures to safeguard data and systems.

Conduct regular security audits and compliance checks.

Manage user access and authentication protocols.

. System Development and Maintenance

Collaborate with vendors and service providers for system upgrades.

Oversee the deployment of new applications and tools.

Ensure data backup and disaster recovery plans are in place and tested.

. Documentation and Reporting

Maintain detailed documentation of IT systems, configurations, and processes.

Prepare and present reports on system performance and issues to management.

. Strategic IT Initiatives

Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions to enhance business operations.

Assist in planning and executing IT projects in line with business goals.
