About CPSP
College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan is the premier postgraduate medical institution of Pakistan. Established in 1962 through an act of parliament and by the untiring efforts of 50 eminent physicians of the then both wings of Pakistan under the visionary leadership of Gen. W. A Burki, Minister for health, Government of Pakistan. Charter of the college focused upon promotion of specialist medical practice through organization of postgraduate medical education, training and research.
Life at CPSP
The Examination department conducts post graduate examinations in various medical, surgical and dental disciplines on behalf of the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan.
Functionality
The department performs its functions by conducting examinations at head office at Karachi and regional offices, namely Quetta, Hyderabad, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, Nawabshah, Larkana, Multan, Bhawalpur, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Abbotabad, Katmandu (Nepal) and Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).
Number of Examinations
The department conducts over 170 examinations every year. Clinical component of most of the examinations are held at Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad; but other regional centers and hospitals are also used for this purpose for a few examinations.
