Description

Job Summary:

The Shrink-Wrap Machine Operator will package finished products using an automated shrink-wrap machine.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Operates shrink-wrap machine to package products.

• Consults production schedule to determine products to be shrink-wrapped during shift.

• Performs minor adjustments on machine to accommodate different products to be wrapped.

• Sorts and counts unwrapped products and ensures they are wrapped correctly.

• Inspects and removes defective or damaged products.

• Transports wrapped products to shipping area.

• Performs basic maintenance on the shrink-wrap machine.

• Notifies supervisor or other appropriate staff when supplies need to be reordered.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to operate shrink-wrap machine and adjust computer controls.

• Ability to follow instructions.

• Ability to read equipment manual.

• Basic math skills.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Previous related experience preferred; on-the-job training offered.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of standing.

• Must be able to lift kg at a time.
