Description

GE Solucions looking for a DME Billing Specialist. This role is responsible for collaborating with ancillary department in insurance payments, entering charges for surgeries and other services, assisting patients with their accounts and health claims related to follow-up, denials, and appeals.Main focus is for billing insurance follow up.

Responsibilities
Confirming proper documentation is occurring in the facility's billing system.
Ensure accurate and timely preparation and submission of billing information and posting payments received.
Calling insurance companies regarding any discrepancy in payments if necessary.
Preparing, reviewing, and transmitting claims using billing software.
Ensure all claims are submitted with a goal of zero errors.
Follows proper medical and insurance claim processes.
Monitor unpaid claims and follow-up or re-bill as needed to ensure timely payment.
Assisting the lead medical biller and fellow billing staff in submitting accurate claims.
Review claims, invoice billing, sort claims by primary and secondary insurance and access patients in system to identify necessary attachments

Required Skills
Effectively communicate in English; both oral and written
General knowledge of federal payer program regulations and guidelines
Interpret a variety of communications (verbal, non-verbal, written, listening and visual)
Knowledge of medical billing practices and of billing reimbursement, preferred
Maintain confidentiality, discretion and caution when handling sensitive information
Proven working experience in same industry for at least a year
Accurately perform simple mathematical calculation
Sense of urgency and responsiveness to physicians, location employees and patients

Technical Abilities
Excellent email transmission and written/verbal communication skills
Internet navigation and research
Microsoft applications; Word and Excel
Familiarity with Electronic health record systemor patient management software, Office Ally and aging reports

Background Requirements
+ year of medical practice billing or in same field.
Skill in computation, typing and filing.
Ability to make simple mathematical computations.
Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Finance related field.
Certification in Billing (preferable)
