POSITION CODE : HRD-PC/TD-  

DEPARTMENT / PROGRAM : Mental Health Program 

REPORTING TO : Program Manager, Mental Health Integration 

EMPLOYMENT TYPE : Contractual 

LOCATION : Karachi, Pakistan 

JOB PURPOSE

The incumbent will lead the development, coordination and management of all research related activities within the scope of the grant, as well as work with the Mental Health team to identify potential publication opportunities for existing research being conducted in the department.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Research and Coordination [ %]

Act as lead researcher on all studies related to the Grand Challenges grant, including a willingness-to-pay study. 

With the support of the Program Manager, ensure effective coordination of all research-related activities

Prepare comprehensive research protocols, including SOPs, Toolkits, etc.

Send across documentation for Internal Review Board (IRB) for approval of research proposals. Ensure all research is adherent to IRB guidelines.

Represent IRD and the Mental Health team in international and local conferences.

Write and publish research reports, articles, short blurbs to disseminate findings.

Maintain integrity, and completeness of data collected.

With the Research Associate, Supervise, train, and manage field workers involved in the study.

Participate in weekly operational meetings with the core team to provide regular updates on research progress.

Prepare manuscripts for studies with the support of supervisors.

Miscellaneous [ %]

Act as departmental representative in all research-related matters with the support of the Program Manager. 

Other activities pertaining to overall scope of the Mental Health Program as and when required.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES (KSA)

Required Qualification

Bachelors or Masters degree(s) in a relevant field including public health, social science, international relations. 

Development or another relevant field.

Required Experience

- years of experience. A background in coordinating research activities is highly preferable. 

Required Skills

Computer Literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office. 

Fluency in English/Urdu (oral and written) will be strongly preferred.

Hands on experience of SPSS and STATA (Desired, but not mandatory) Analytical Skills.
