Description

We are currently seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Accountant Assistant to join our finance team. The Accountant Assistant will provide essential support to our accounting department by assisting with various financial tasks and ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities:

Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing, payment processing, and reconciliations.

Support month-end and year-end close processes by preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and assisting with financial reporting.

Process employee expense reports and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Assist with the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation.

Reconcile bank statements and credit card statements on a regular basis.

Assist with auditing processes by providing documentation and supporting schedules.

Respond to inquiries from vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders regarding financial transactions.

Assist with special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis as needed.

Collaborate with other members of the finance team to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

Proven experience in an accounting or finance role, preferably as an Accounting Assistant or similar position.

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work.

Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and processes.
